- This program is used to simulate a over-head projector used to present
- songs for praise and worship at churches or cell groups.
- The idea of the program came when a cell group is started at my
- residence and enormous amount of paper were slaughtered and a huge
- bundle of mess is created from it. We contemplated buying a real
- overhead projector. The idea came by divine inspiration and I started
- with the project. My cell group have been using it for half a year
- and now I have decided to release this program for the benefit others.
- Comments were that it works better than a real overhead with better
- clarity and a more organised manner.
- Version 2.0 is the first release fully self contained package with all
- the basic facilities necessary to create slides and
- and present them for worship.
-
-
- Distribution
- ------------
- This package is released as freeware and is fully distributable
- provided the entire original archive including this documentation
- file is intact. If you do happen to find this package useful please
- drop me a note at any of the above addresses so that I could have
- some rough idea on how many and who are using it.
- Suggestions for improvement are most welcome.
-
-
- System Requirements
- -------------------
- The package runs on any Amiga model.
- Minimum of 1 Meg of RAM.
- Hard drive highly recommended as the song collection can get pretty
- messy.
-
-
- Installation
- ------------
- The package requires the following files in the system
- libs:diskfont.library
- libs:mathieeedoubas.library
- c:copy
- The Blake font type is include in this archive, which is the main font
- type used by the program and must be found in fonts: directory.
- Main executable OHP2.0 can be placed anywhere. I suggest you create
- a directory for it and all the songs.
- My directory is called "Cell Group" and further subdirectories in
- alphabetical order to accomodate fast song searching.
-
-
- How to use the program
- ----------------------
- The program is meant to be used by connecting the Amiga to a TV set
- or a projector in churches that have them. All Amiga models come
- with composite video output and RF modulator output. Majority of
- houses would have a TV set which can be used by cell groups/
- house groups/ house churches. This is for a clear and visible
- presentation. Preparation for the songs can be done with your
- conventional monitor. Using the program is very straightforward
- and intuitive. You should be able to figure all of it out
- without reading this doc file.
-
- Main Screen
- -
- The main Screen consist of a list of numbered slides. These will be
- the order of the songs. To assign the slide with a song slide, click
- on the numbered button. A file requestor will appear where you can
- choose a song. The song files are stored as straight text files.
- For sessions more than 8 songs that are displayed on the screen, the
- up and down arrow buttons can be used to scroll the entire slide
- script up and down one song.
- The Quit button as you have guessed is to quit the program. The trick
- is that you have to double click it for safety reason.
- The LOAD button is to load a previously arranged and saved slide
- script.
- The SAVE button is to save a slide script after arranging it.
- The NEW button is to clear the current slide script in memory for you
- to arrange a new slide.
- The PRESENT button is the main function of the program which is to
- display the songs arranged in order, simulating a overhead projector.
- The arranged songs are copied to the RAM drive for a faster access
- during presentation. The presenting screen assumes that all files are
- found in RAM drive. The copying of files to ram drive are done
- automatically when you arrange the songs and when you load pre-arranged
- scripts.
- The EDIT button is where you can enter new slides to your song
- database. This will bring you to the edit screen.
-
- Presentation Screen
- -
- This is the screen when you click the PRESENT button. Use the mouse to
- move the slide up and down as you would a normal overhead projector.
- Additional control keys are provided to facilitate the script
- presentation without disturbing the presented screen. These are the
- RIGHT and LEFT ARROW keys and the ESCAPE key. The escape key is used to
- exit the presentation and return to the main screen. The arrow keys are
- for moving to the next slide or the previous slide. Let you figure out
- which key for which direction.
-
- Edit Screen
- -
- This screen is used to create new slides. The ESC key is used to go
- back to the main screen when you are done. The buttons LOAD, SAVE and
- NEW should be self explanatory. The TEST button is to test the typed
- slide to the actual presentation format so that you can do your
- formatting as the system is not a WYSIWYG system yet. When you are satisfied
- with the results you can then proceed to save the slide.
- Please note that the first line is the title line which will be
- underlined and printed in a smaller font on the presentation slide.
- Second line onwards will be the actual slide material. Songs longer
- than the set slide size will have to flow over a few slide files
- i.e. create a few files continuing the same song.
- File extension such as song.1, song.2 are an example of how to
- organise your files. Subsequent song slide can be started on the second
- line of the slide editor so that the title is printed as blank.
